This comprehensive band method teaches all of the basic skills necessary to play the instrument and reviews and reinforces previously-learned material. The book features 198 short songs and etudes (from composers such as Bach, Beethoven, Mozart, and Sousa to name a few) which are used to learn new notes, rhythms and styles.
In addition, there is a section for individual study. (The printed piano accompaniments are included for this section.) As an added bonus, this book features a guide to creating music, rhythm studies, and a detailed reference index.
Rounding out the book is a short lesson on music history, a lesson on music theory, a fingering chart, and a compact disc. The CD provides accompaniments for lessons 1 - 55.
